Our Annual Meeting for 2018 was held on 31st May to welcome our new Town & Deputy Town Mayor for the upcoming Civic Year. We also welcomed a new face on to the Council.

After serving 3 years as Deputy Town Mayor, Councillor Graham Waite was elected by his peers to stand as Buntingford Town Mayor for 2018/19. Councillor Peter Hay was elected to stand as Deputy Town Mayor for 2018/19.

Changes to Local Bus Service 331

New residential development taking place in Buntingford will release funding for improvements to service 331 which are planned to come into operation on 2nd July 2018.

The Town Council has noticed the number of recent posts on Facebook regarding the call for the installation of CCTV in Buntingford.

Speed Indicator Device Coming To Buntingford

Speed Indicator Device Coming To Buntingford

Buntingford Town Council has secured grant funding from the Hertfordshire Police Crime Commissioner to fund a Speed Indicator Device (SID) and two sockets at different locations to place the device.

Mustard Seed Singers Concert a Success

The first fund raising concert of the Mustard Seed Singers was held on 1st April at St Peter's Church, Buntingford and the audience of about 100 really did seem to enjoy the show which raised just over £600 to add towards much needed repairs to the brickwork of St Peter's.

2017/18 Mayor & Deputy Mayor Chosen

After last night's Annual Meeting in the Council Chamber, Councillor John Noades was elected by his peers to be Buntingford Town Mayor for 2017/18. This is his 3rd term in a row as Mayor and his 5th term overall.

Councillor Graham Waite was elected to be Deputy Town Mayor for 2017/18. This is also his 3rd term in a row.

Buntingford Community Area Neighbourhood Plan Accepted By The Public

After years of hard work and several scrutiny processes, the Neighbourhood Plan has been accepted by the community at referendum. The results of the Referendum held on the 23rd March 2017 are as follows:

The turnout was 22.30% of the Community Area Electorate.

There were 1351 Ballot Papers issued.

There were 1268 (94%) votes in favour of a Yes

There were 82 (6%) votes in favour of a No.
