Town Council Statement

Following the recent circulation of misleading information, Buntingford Town Council wish to clarify its position with regards to its responsibilities concerning the town's parks and open spaces.
The Town Council continue to remain solely responsible for the management, maintenance and upgrade to the towns parks and open spaces with the exception to some still under control of developers, irrespective of whether the space is allocated for sport, leisure or conservation.
Recently, the Town Council has identified the wildlife area within Hare Street Road playing field as an area that would benefit from investment. To assist Councillors in deciding options, the Town Council commissioned and paid for professional advice by way of a report and its content is now subject of consideration by the Council's Amenities Committee.
No other organisation, administrative body or those with political affiliation have been involved in this process, other than those engaged by the council.
