Freedom of the Town Awards

On 25th May 2023 at an extraordinary meeting of Buntingford Town Council, Mrs Teresa Bonner and Mr Jonathan Ling were awarded with the Freedom of the Town award in recognition of their outstanding service to the community as members of the council.

Jonathan was a member of the Council from 1976 – 2023. During which time he held the high office of Chairman of Buntingford Town Council for the municipal years 1987/88, 1988/89, 1989/90 & 1996/97.

Teresa was a member of the Council from 2003-2022. During which time she served as Chairman of the Amenities Committee from 2015 - 2021.

On 30th June 2023 at the Mayor's Civic Reception, Teresa was presented with her award. Unfortunately Jonathan could not be with us on the night and his award was presented to his wife Marion and daughter Vivienne on his behalf.

We would like to thank both Jonathan and Teresa for their service to the town and wish them all the best for what lies ahead.
