A Memorable Tribute
Around 60 people attended the service at the War Memorial at 4pm on Sunday 3rd August to remember the start of War World 1. The Role Call was read by the Chairman of the Royal British Legion, John Hicks. Both Father White and Reverend Duncan Goldie officiated.

Great War Exhibition
The Town Council has linked with Freman College and the Royal British Legion to stage an exhibition commemorating the outbreak of the First World War. It will be held at the Council Chamber of Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August from 10.00 to 4.00pm. There will also be a service at the War Memorial at 4pm on the Sunday.

Local Organisations attend Civic Reception
Buntingford Town Mayor, Graham Bonner, hosted the Civic Reception last Friday evening when over 40 local societies and organisations were entertained. This annual event aims at recognising the tremendous efforts these clubs and societies put in providing such a wide variety of amenities for the town.

What a GREAT day
Every two years the Carnival committee come up tops and this year was certainly no exception. A great day was had by all and once again it was so pleasing to see the parade. Many thanks to Ashley and his band of very hard workers

Questionnaires - closing date extended
The Neighbourhood Plan questionnaires were a bit delayed in some distribution areas for which we apologise.
The closing date for completed forms, and on-line via Smart Survey, will now be end of the day on 13th June.

Questionnaires are on their way
Residents across the parishes of Aspenden, Buckland & Chipping, Buntingford, Cottered, Hormead and Wyddial, will soon receive through their letter boxes the Neighbourhood Plan Questionnaire.
Complete this and you could win £250. The form will be collected within 14 days but you could return it to one of the collection points listed.

New Councillor co-opted
The vacancy left by the resignation of Rod Coleman was filled last Thursday evening at the special Full Council meeting. The decision was that Toby Archer be co-opted.
Toby operates the Cheese Plate in Buntingford High Street and is Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce. He is also involved in the Neighbourhood Planning Forum and the Town Council's Traffic Advisory Group.

Yet more Planning Applications
Having being granted permission by the Planning Inspectorate for 100 house at the east of Snells Mead, Wheatley Homes have now put in two more applications for adjacent land. 80 dwellings for the land north of the Millennium Wildlife Area and 100 east of Layston Meadow. Neither of these two parcels of land are included in the current draft District Plan.

Town Councillors' Surgery
Buntingford Town Councillors are to hold monthly surgeries commencing on Wednesday 19th March. Come along to the Council Chamber between 7pm and 8.30pm and speak to one of the Councillors.
The next surgery will be held on the Wednesday 16th April.
