Outdoor Gym in Buntingford

The Town Council have recently commissioned the installation of outdoor gym equipment to be fitted in the town.

Cedar Tree has to be removed

Cedar Tree has to be removed

Following a report from the District Arboriculture Officer, the Town Council has reluctantly agreed to remove the large Blue Cedar Tree in Layston Court Gardens. The Officer is of the opinion that the tree is dangerous and could cause serious injury to a member of the public.

For the protection of the public the gardens will be closed during the removal process.

Freedom Of The Town Granted For The First Time

The highest honour a Local Council can bestow has been granted to Councillors for the first time.

Eunice Woods & Jean Cook have been granted the Honorary Freedom of the Town for their eminent service to the Town.

Eunice & Jean will receive their Honorary Freeman of Buntingford Certificates at the Annual Civic Reception at the end of June.

With the elections now over, the Town Council said a fond goodbye to number of serving members.

Eunice Woods has served for many a year and has been Mayor a number of times. It can truly be said that if you cut her in half you would find the word Buntingford, just like a stick of rock, running through her.

Youth Councillors in Westminster

Youth Councillors in Westminster

Members of the Youth Council visited Westminster and The Houses of Parliament yesterday.

They were able to sit in on a debate about Shaker Aamer in Guantanamo Bay, have their very own 'Question Time' with Sir Oliver Heald, and walk around the Houses of Parliament including a walk through the House of Commons.
