Serving the people of Buntingford

  • Buntingford Town Council - Serving the Community
Cllr Patricia Furness

Cllr Patricia Furness

Patricia was co-opted onto the Council in May 2019.

I have been involved in education for 49 years as teacher, lecturer, head of Education in a Young Offenders' Prison, consultant and inspector. Though retired, I have not let go of the teaching link and now work as a consultant trainer for Herts., as an education volunteer for the RNLI and as a school governor. On retiring, my husband and I moved from North Yorkshire to Fairfield near Letchworth nine years ago. However, we had set our hearts on finding a property in Buntingford and in 2013 were able to make the move we both wanted.

I have four children and ten grandchildren and love spending time with them all. I enjoy travel, politics, reading and theatre. My interest in politics led me to offer my services to the Council ; I hope to work with like- minded people and will strive to maintain Buntingford's charm and sense of community.
