Speed Indicator Device Coming To Buntingford

Buntingford Town Council has secured grant funding from the Hertfordshire Police Crime Commissioner to fund a Speed Indicator Device (SID) and two sockets at different locations to place the device.

The sockets will be located along London Road (near the bottom of Owles Lane) and along Baldock Road (near the Pyghtle footpath). The SID will be placed at the Baldock Road site in the first instance. A third socket along Hare Street Road will.. Read More »

Mustard Seed Singers Concert a Success

The first fund raising concert of the Mustard Seed Singers was held on 1st April at St Peter's Church, Buntingford and the audience of about 100 really did seem to enjoy the show which raised just over £600 to add towards much needed repairs to the brickwork of St Peter's.

The Buntingford Walking Football Team played their 1st ever match against Hertford last Saturday.

Featuring a mixture of Town Councillors, a Town Council Officer, a District Councillor and members of the public, the team visited the Hertford Town Football Ground to play an 8-a-side match. Date Confirmed For BCANP Referendum

A date for the referendum of the Buntingford Community Area Neighbourhood Plan (BCANP) has now been confirmed by East Herts Council.

After years of hard work by the Neighbourhood Planning Team, the referendum date has been scheduled for Thursday 23rd March 2017. Polling cards will be sent out to those who are eligible to vote prior to then with confirmation of the date, time and location of where to vote, which will be your regular polling station.. New Councillor

The resignation of Debbie Lemay in June created a vacancy on the Council. The public did not call for an election leaving the Council free to co-opt a new member.

Cedar Tree has to be removed

Cedar Tree has to be removed

Following a report from the District Arboriculture Officer, the Town Council has reluctantly agreed to remove the large Blue Cedar Tree in Layston Court Gardens. The Officer is of the opinion that the tree is dangerous and could cause serious injury to a member of the public.

For the protection of the public the gardens will be closed during the removal process.

Freedom Of The Town Granted For The First Time

The highest honour a Local Council can bestow has been granted to Councillors for the first time.

Eunice Woods & Jean Cook have been granted the Honorary Freedom of the Town for their eminent service to the Town.

A Fond Fairwell

With the elections now over, the Town Council said a fond goodbye to number of serving members.

Eunice Woods has served for many a year and has been Mayor a number of times. It can truly be said that if you cut her in half you would find the word Buntingford, just like a stick of rock, running through her.
