Town Councillor Vacancy

Rod Coleman has now moved to the north-east and has resigned as a Buntingford Town Councillor. This means another vacancy is available which the Council hope to fill by co-option providing no election is called for. Those that have already applied for co-option for the previous vacancy, need not reapply as they will automatically be considered.

Yet more development for the Town

Last week EHDC approved the application by Pigeon Developments to develop north of Park Farm. Technically the majority of this land lies in Cottered Parish with only the Care Home and link road within Buntingford. As it stands, the S106 development money and the New Homes Bonus could all go to Cottered with no benefit to Buntingford.
Despite the concerns of the Town Council and others, EHDC have stated the development must start within 2 years. This means that this, the Taylor.. Read More »

Planning Appeal Upheld

The Inspector has just issued his report which gives the go ahead for two major developments in Buntingford.

These are known as the Taylor Wimpey and Wheatley Homes proposals. They lie to the east of the town on either side of Hare Street Road.

Buntingford Town Council fought hard at the Inquiry to oppose these developments but with no support from EHDC, lack of District Plan and no demonstratable 5 year land supply, it was.. Read More »

Our old site was very much appreciated but was beginning to show its age. It recorded well over 300,000 hits in its lifetime. Our thanks go to Paul Sully who designed the original site from scratch and worked with us over the years to maintain it to a very high standard.

Technology has moved on and there are a number of innovations allowing the.. Read More »

Planning Appeal

As many of you are aware, there was a Public Inquiry just before Christmas to consider the two proposed developments either side of Hare Street Road. The one to the north known as Taylor Wimpey and that to the south Wheatley Homes.
Our solicitor and consultant, funded by the Town Council with contribution from the Civic Society, acquitted our case well. Additional representations were made my councillors and residents.
The Inspector's decision is expected to be announced.. Read More »
